The winter of 2014/2015 has not been easy for studio work. Here in Michigan we reached temperatures of -20 degrees ferinheight or lower! My studio just happens to be in an uninsulated pole barn so freezing clay and glazes, as well as freezing hands became a problem. I managed to make a few things, but overall it was a very slow winter. But as I sit here sipping on coffee, I see brightly colored cardinals through my window and grass peeking up from the snow! Spring has arrived and with it the ability to make new work.
I know that my posts tend to be few and far between. I usually write more on the Jesie s. Pottery Facebook page. But this summer I will keep this blog more up to date. I hope to not only get great functional pieces made, but also experiment with my pit fires more. Stay tuned for a clay filled summer.
